| In the preliminary round of the league cup Ruthin Town took a filth minute lead at Mold Alex with a Mike Garrod goal. Mold equalised from the penalty spot in the twenty first minute after Ruthin keeper Simon Williams conceded the spot kick, Stuart Hayes converting. Garry Ellison put the visitors ahead again four minutes before the break. Gary Burns with the goal of the game had Mold level before Kevin Breeze sealed Ruthin's win with eleven minutes remaining. In the first round Holyhead Hotspur and Llangefni Town were level at the break courtesy of goals from Darren Garmey and Danny Glyn Roberts, Roberts scoring an own goal in the seventieth minute to see Holyhead into the second round |
