Although there were four football teams in Holyhead at the end of the 1980s, the formation of Hotspurs resulted in their eventual amalgamation and by 1997, Holyhead Hotspur became the modern day successor to the "Harbourmen" of years ago, and formed a senior team, a reserve team and seven junior/youth teams.
Winning the Anglesey League, Gwynedd League and Welsh Alliance League in successive seasons, the club gained promotion to the Cymru Alliance and has consolidated its position over the intervening period.
