LEX X1 FOOTBALL CLUB

The club was started by a group of Wrexham solicitors for social purposes, but after a while they decided to move into competitive football and joined the Welsh National League. After something of a nomadic existence, the club bought Wrexham's Stansty Park training ground off the town's main Mold Road roundabout.
After considerable success in the 80s, Lex were founded members of the Cymru Alliance and won the League Cup in 1991 and 1992.
Close to the end of the 2001/2 season Lex suffered a 12-0 mauling at champions Welshpool and then had seven points deducted for a breach of rules.
