Whelan leaves Glantraeth

GLANTRAETH and PAUL WHELAN PART COMPANY
Glantraeth have parted company with manager Paul Whelan and hope to make a new appointment within two weeks. Paul has enjoyed a tremendously successful period at the club taking them to second place in 2004-05 season and the following season leading the club to an incredible Cymru Alliance league and club double. The club recognises that it is difficult to maintain this standard when the club cannot meet promotion requirements and would like to place on record their thanks for all Paul has done for the club during his period in charge.

WHELAN JOINS PORTHMADOG
FORMER player Paul Whelan has been confirmed as the new manager of Porthmadog.
The appointment was widely expected after Glantraeth announced on Friday that Whelan was leaving after a highly successful period at the Cymru Alliance outfit, leading them to second place in 2004/5 and the following season to the league and cup double.
A statement from Port says: "He (Whelan) had become disenchanted with Glantraeth’s inability to match his ambitions for the club and had determined to leave.
