Caersws manager Mike Evans has seen it all before
MID Wales’s most experienced football manager has kept his calm while managers around him work the phones.
Caersws manager Mickey Evans is refusing to get caught up in the usual circus and has instead quietly started pre-season training with one new recruit and a policy of seeing how things settle over the coming weeks.
“It’s early days yet but I have signed former Aberystwyth and Bala midfielder Rob Evans who looks a good athlete,” said Evans.
“It’s the time of year when players seem to go from here to there to see what’s what but I’ll keep talking to one or two and see what materialises.”
Last season’s squad has reported for duty apart from goalkeeper Alex Ramsay who has returned to parent club TNS after a season-long loan.
So, it still seems remarkably quiet on the football front as the season starts to inch closer with many in friendly action next weekend.
The league reports 144 players have registered so far and there have been 12 pre-season games involving league clubs.
