Bangor praise for Rhyl

Bangor City have praised and thanked Rhyl FC for their excellent co-operation in arranging their UEFA Champions League match at Belle Vue this week.

"I was made up this morning when I read in the Daily Post, the comments that Neville (Powell) had also made about the way you had assisted in organising the match;" said club secretary Gwynfor Jones.

"Rhyl's General Manager Tony Hepton was the backbone in organising the match with us and I have asked him to thank all of those others who assisted to make the match the success that it was, apart from the result, from the Groundsman, Stewards, Ball Boys and Tea Ladies." he told the FAW

Rhyl FC made us feel very much at home at the match and are a credit to Rhyl Football Club and to Welsh football

Bangor decided to move their Champions League match to Rhyl this year, rather than the larger Racecourse, as their current home at Farrar Road does not meet the UEFA Stadium Regulations.

"Let's hope that you can now have a very successful season and get yourselves back where you belong in the Welsh Premier League; as the league needs a strong Rhyl, and Bangor City need clubs like Rhyl in the League." concluded Jones.

The clubs are also hoping to meet once again in a friendly at Farrar Road, after the success of a friendly between the two clubs last Saturday.
