New role for life member

Life member former referees and fixture secretary Phil Pritchard has been appointed as Vice Chairman to one of football’s most influential committees.

Welsh GFA President Phil has been asked to become Vice Chairman of UEFA’s Assistance and Development Committee, a task force which oversees several key areas of the European game. English icon Trevor Brooking is also member of the 14-man committee.

“It’s a wonderful honour to be recognised in this way,” said Phil. “The work carried out by this committee is vital to the sport’s development and I am looking forward to working with some of the most influential figures in the European game.”

Meanwhile, Pritchard will be jetting off to Rio de Janeiro after the weekend to attend the draw for the 2014 World Cup to be held in Brazil.
