HAPPY NEW YEAR

Still all to play for

Happy New Year from the management of the Huws Gray Alliance

With half the season gone there is still plenty to play for with the league tight at the top and bottom

The weather has been very kind to the fixtures this season with only only FIVE games lost by the end of December compared to TWENTY SEVEN at the same time last season

Champions Gap Connahs Quay lead the way as we start 2012 with a one point advantage over Rhyl who have a game in hand

Quay have lost their influential left back Ben Collins who has moved to the Welsh Premier league, while Rhyl have strengthened their squad with the signings of Danny Hughes (Llandudno), ex-Chester forward Adriano Rigoglioso and  Will Thomas from Guilsfield

Porthmadog lie third three points behind the leaders with a game in hand and Buckley Town are a point behind them. Cefn Druids lie fifth five points behind Buckley with a game in hand

At the bottom Rhos Aelwyd are currently two points adrift of Llangefni Town with Penycae four points above them. Eight points sepertate the bottom five with three of the clubs promoted last season in the bottom four.

With clubs having to play each other in the second half of the season it could be of of the closest  (at the top and bottom) seasons ever.

There are five Huws Gray Alliance clubs still in the Welsh Cup, Buckley Town, Cefn Druids, Flint Town United, Llandudno and Rhyl. We wish them all good luck - Keep the flag flying

In the Huws Gray Cup Penrhyncoch are through to the semi-final and will be joined by the winners of the follwing quarter final ties  Rhyl v Buckley Town, Carsws v Cefn Druids and Porthmadog v Gap Connahs Quay

Lets hope the weather stays kind to the fixtures with some interesting games still to be played and PLENTY STILL TO BE PLAYED for

Good luck to all teams

A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR
